We decided to spend Christmas in the Cabo de Gata national Park in the motorhome and traveled down on 22nd December. On the way down we had a view of a White Christmas at Sierra Nevada.
We spent the first night in San Jose where they allow you to park your campervan on a car park near the center. There are always other campervans there so you feel safe wild camping and know that the police won't move you on during the night.

This time of the year most of the restaurants are closed, but we found one that was open, El Octopus where we had nice food and a lovely bottle of wine.
We walked through the town and along the headland to Playa de los Genoveses which is a fabulous beach and the first one that you come to on the outskirts of the town.

Went to campsite at Los Escullos on Christmas Eve and there were a few more people there. We walked to the nearest beach Play del Arco which takes about 15 minutes.
