Archidona

We paid a visit to the ancient village of Archidona, following an old path from the edge of the village we twisted and turned and after crossing over an old rickety bridge made our way up to a mirador with great views of the Archidona below us and the surrounding countryside. Across the road from the mirador was the Ermita del Santo Cristo which contained a statue of Christ with bleeding knees,

very scary. Following the road from there, we eventually arrived at the Sanctuary and more splendid views.

After walking around the church we made our way back down the road to start our ascent of El Conjuro, which involved making our way up the fairly steep hillside until we arrived at the summit.

Nearing the summit

Made it to the top

From there it was an easy descent along the ridge and through some olives to a track leading us back to the village, passing below a Via Ferrata Sierra de Gracia,

Saving this for another day
which we decided not to do today but leave it for another time (maybe) but there were some people climbing up the cliff face.
