Jerez de la Frontera, Spain

We decided to take a holiday using our car instead of our motorhome for a change. The first stop was at Jerez de la Frontera at a hostal called Hostal Fenix which was in the old part of town and while being very quaint, the roads are very narrow and will only take one vehicle at a time and the parking is very difficult. We did find a parking space about 100 metres from the hostal and carried our cases to check in. Our room had a bird in a cage but it didn't say much.

After checking in we went to Abaceria Cruz Vieja for some lunch using the voucher that we had been given from the hostal which entitled us to a free drink.

We paid a visit to the Catedral de Jerez de la Frontera which was a splendid building built in the 17th century.

In the evening we went for a meal in the old part of the town to Bar Juanito, where we enjoyed some raciones and sampled some more of the local Fino.
After a nice breakfast, we went to visit the Alcazar de Jerez de la Frontera which was really good giving you lots of history about the area and beautiful buildings and gardens.
